Blawx Terms Of Service

The Plain Language Version

This section of the terms is a summary and explanation of the motivations for the terms below. I'm doing my level best to be consistent, but if anything in this section contradicts anything below, the terms below are the actual rules.

Blawx is developed, operated, and maintained by one guy (me) in his spare time. Paid Blawx subscriptions are offered as a way to support the continued development of Blawx, and to subsidize the costs of providing the free subscriptions as a service to the wider computational law and rules as code community.

Paid subscriptions can be cancelled whenever you want, but there will be no refunds for any reason.

You should only use Blawx if:

  • You want to experiment with Rules as Code.
  • You don't care if it goes down for any length of time.
  • You don't care if features don't work.
  • You don't care if any of the data you put into Blawx is deleted.
  • You don't care if future versions of Blawx are incompatible with the current version.
  • You are OK with the information you put into Blawx being used to improve it.

You should only pay for Blawx if:

  • You want to support its development.
  • You want to help make it available to people who don't pay for it.
  • You would like additional influence on the development roadmap.
  • You would like access to premium features.
  • You are OK with being able to cancel, but not being able to get a refund for any reason.

The Legalese Version

Definitions

In these terms, "you" refers to the person or organization agreeing to these terms, "we" refers to Lexpedite Legal Technology, a sole proprietorship in the province of Alberta Canada, and "Blawx" refers to the Blawx service and all of its features, including the website, API, and any other related services.

Acceptance of Terms

Your use of Blawx signifies your acceptance of these terms and your agreement to adhere to their provisions.

Eligibility

You represent that you are 18 years of age or older and have legal capacity to agree to these terms. If you are using Blawx on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Disclaimer

General

Blawx is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, and we expressly disclaim all warranties, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

Availability

We offer no guarantee that Blawx will be available at any given time, or for any portion of a duration of time.

Features

Blawx is under active development, and its features may change at any time at our sole discretion, without notice to you. We offer no guarantee that the features of Blawx will work as expected, or at all.

Data

We offer no guarantee that any data you put into Blawx will be retained, or that it will not be deleted at any time. We reserve the right to delete any data you put into Blawx at any time, for any reason, without notice to you.

Forward Compatibility

Because Blawx is under active development, we offer no guarantee that data that works in any version of Blawx will also work in subsequent versions of Blawx. We reserve the right to make changes to Blawx that break compatibility with previous versions without notice to you.

Termination

You may terminate your subecription to Blawx at any time for any reason. We reserve the right to pause or terminate your subscription to Blawx at any time for any reason, including, but not limited to, a violation of these terms.

Subscription Fees

Paid subscriptions to Blawx are billed monthly on an ongoing basis until cancelled. The cost of your subscription will be the monthly fee per user multiplied by the number of users registered to your team. Monthly fees may be prorated for portions of an initial month. Cancellations take effect immediately, and refunds are not provided for unused portions of a month. No Refunds

Blawx subscriptions are non-refundable.

Use of the Service

You agree to use Blawx in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to use Blawx for any unlawful or prohibited purpose, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Violating any intellectual property rights of others.
  • Transmitting any viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to Blawx or its systems.
  • Interfering with the operation of Blawx or its systems.
  • Using Blawx to send spam or other unsolicited communications.

You agree that your use of Blawx will not intentionally cause a deterioration in the availability of the service to other users.

You agree not to use Blawx in such a way as to reverse engineer it or to create competing products.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data or use, incurred by you or any third party, whether in an action in contract or tort, arising from your access to or use of Blawx.

The liability of Lexpedite Legal Technology is strictly limited to the amount paid by you for the use of Blawx.

Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time at our sole discretion without advanced notice. Publication of these terms at https://app.blawx.dev/terms will be considered sufficient notice of any changes.

Governing Law

These terms will be governed by the law of Alberta, Canada and disputes arising out of or related to these terms will be resolved in the courts of Alberta, Canada.
